The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is proud of its multi-cultural population. The region has one of the most culturally diverse populations in the State. 34,445 people who were living in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield in 2011 were born overseas, and 30% arrived in Australia within 5 years prior to 2011. The largest population groups are from the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany but more recently significant numbers of new settlers are from Vietnam, China and India.
The mixture of different cultural backgrounds provides an exciting range of experiences for all residents with foods, festivals, arts, languages, religions and celebrations from across the world. Information, support and booklets are produced by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield on community connections and support for refugee and asylum seekers.
