The Australian Assyrian Chaldean Syriac Advocacy Network (AACSAN) is one of Australia’s fast-growing new and emerging communities with a significant concentration of the community in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. With most of the overseas-born community having come to Australia as refugees, the community is now making a strong and meaningful contribution to Australia and associations like AACSAN are being formed to support the community’s growth, capacity and health.
The Network works to strengthen and build community capacity, be a forum for information sharing, enhance partnerships with mainstream services, engage meaningfully with elected representatives and enhance coordination, information, and referral of AACSAN members to appropriate services.
