Summary
1. Migrants experience a range of mental health challenges often perpetuated by pervasive and intersectional systemic oppression.
2. Mental health should be woven through all activities a settlement service does through a braided approach rather than stepped approach where mental health is only addressed after other psychosocial needs.
3. Ideally, mental health should be considered in every interaction with a settlement service, “every interaction is suicide prevention”.
