Conference Scholarship Application Form
Thank you for your interest in applying for a Conference Scholarship for SCOA’s upcoming 2023 National Settlement Conference: Building the future together.
The Conference Scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to individuals and voluntary organisations who can greatly benefit from attending the conference, particularly in terms of enhancing their advocacy and support for newly arrived migrants and refugees of all backgrounds settling in Australia.
These scholarships are supported by our generous conference sponsors, including our Community and Sector Supporters, SSI and Australian Multicultural Community Services.
ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION CRITERIA
A limited number of scholarships are available to individuals who
Are not able to have the costs of attendance covered by a funded institution
Have a lived experience of migration or forced displacement
Conference Scholarships will be allocated according to the following criteria:
Commitment to Advocacy: We encourage applicants to describe their involvement in advocating for the settlement and well-being of newly arrived migrants and refugees in Australia. This could include previous initiatives, projects, or any relevant experience that showcases your dedication to this cause.
Potential Impact: We value applicants who can demonstrate the potential impact they can make upon returning from the conference. Please outline the specific skills, knowledge, or connections you expect to gain from attending, and how you plan to utilise these resources to further advance the rights and support of newly arrived migrants and refugees.
Diversity and Inclusion: We will select applications with the intent of maximising the diversity of perspectives at the SCOA conference.
Applications for a scholarship will be assessed individually and a response will be provided via email 6 weeks before the conference date.
