Mar 7, 2025

SCOA is pleased to present our latest webinar, held in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) on the Building a New Life in Australia: 10 years of humanitarian settlement Report. The webinar was held on Thursday 20 February 2025, at 12.00–1.00pm AEDT (UTC+11).

The Building a New Life in Australia: 10 years of humanitarian settlement (BNLA) Report, launched in November 2024, examines the settlement outcomes of 2,399 humanitarian migrants who participated in the study over 10 years. The research was conducted by the Australian Institute of Family Studies and is funded by the Department of Social Services.

The presentation addressed humanitarian settlement issues including language learning, employment, social connection and cohesion, health and well-being. The presentation will also touch on early findings from a ‘deep dive’ into the economic participation of BNLA participants. There will be an opportunity for Q&A and discussion.
