National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
During NAIDOC Week, SCOA is honoured to speak with Dr Anita Heiss AM, DLitt, about her powerful storytelling and acclaimed body of work. This special session invites the audience to read Dr Anita Heiss’s recommended books and take part in an interactive discussion that explores First Nations history, celebrates the cultures in her writing, and reflects on her personal journey as shared in her memoir.
