Please note: This session is a follow up to “Implementing the NSOS and SSQF For Settlement Workers”.
Implement best practice national standards in your organisation.
The NSOS articulate the outcomes that are needed for refugees and migrants to be considered ‘settled’. The NSOS apply across all parts of society—including settlement services, government, and broader society. The SSQF is a guiding framework for all the work settlement services do. The SSQF articulates both the outcomes that need to be achieved for refugees and migrants to be considered ‘settled’, and how settlement services go about achieving these outcomes in practice
The interactive workshop will explore the NSOS and SSQF and how they can be applied in practice in the settlement sector.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this training workshop, participants will be able to:
• Describe how the SSQF can be used to recruit and retain staff in settlement agencies
• Discuss how the SSQF can be useful in planning and reviewing settlement programs and activities, and describe some tools that have been developed to support this
• Outline some activities that can be used to explore and embed the SSQF within teams and organisations.
• Explain some practical steps they can take to implement the SSQF within their team / organisation.
