A series of road safety education sessions were delivered by the Northern Area MRC and regional MRCs in South Australia, including Bordertown and Mount Gambier.
Northern Area MRC and Bordertown MRC partnered with the Royal Automobile Association (RAA) to deliver these sessions to participants of Afghan, Bhutanese, Burmese, Congolese, Filipino, Pakistani and Liberian background. Mount Gambier MRC and the South Australia Police delivered a session to new arrivals of Yazidi background.
Outcomes for participants included increased understanding of Australian road rules, increased confidence regarding driving, increased awareness and engagement with road safety activities on the RAA’s website, increased understanding of the process of applying for a driver’s licence and increased knowledge on the benefits of driving.
