Many Coloured Sky, the Queer Development Agency, exists to build capacity, opportunity and recognition of marginalised, vulnerable and intersectional LGBTIQ communities, in Australia and internationally. Since 2018 we’ve supported a growing community of LGBTIQ refugees, asylum seekers and other forcibly displaced people, mostly in Melbourne but also regional Victoria and a number of individuals in other states and territories. This work has included significant capacity building and providing leadership opportunities, mentoring and network building, alongside advocacy, peer and social support, case work, workshops, multi-session mental health programs, referrals, excursions and material support, as well as professional development, capacity building and collaboration with service providers from multiple sectors.
