Kateb Hazara Association (KHA) is a community-led, not-for-profit organisation based in Lidcombe, New South Wales. Established in 2006, it supports the Hazara and broader Afghan community through settlement assistance, cultural and educational programs, youth and women’s leadership initiatives, and community wellbeing activities. Managed by Hazara people with lived refugee experience, KHA aims to empower new arrivals, preserve Hazara culture, and promote social cohesion and active citizenship within the wider Australian community.
KHA provides a range of settlement and integration services to support newly arrived Hazara and Afghan refugees in New South Wales. These include assistance with housing, accessing essential services, education and employment pathways, and navigating health and welfare systems. The organisation also offers language support, community orientation, and referrals to specialised services. Through programs such as the Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) program, KHA helps individuals and families build independence, social connections, and a sense of belonging in Australia.
