The Employment Services Expert Advisory Panel’s report I Want to Work: Employment Services 2020 is now available.
The panel’s report highlights opportunities to enhance employment service delivery in the employment services system, taking into account the more than 450 submissions received in response to the public consultation paper, the Future of Employment Services.
SCoA’s advocacy on behalf of new Australians engaged with jobactive has been to promote a more comprehensive approach that focuses on a job seeker’s strengths, and what steps are required to achieve “job readiness” as opposed to a strict, compliance-focused model. Our submission can be viewed here.
SCoA welcomes the opportunity to engage in meaningful consultation about the future design of employment services and trusts that the government will ensure affected job seekers, and those that represent them, will be actively involved in the design of a future employment services model.
