Services Australia has developed new factsheet for migrants, refugees and visitors about COVID-19 support and changes. This can be accessed from servicesaustralia.gov.au/covid19 as well as their Help for refugees, humanitarian entrants and new arrivals webpage.
This factsheet has information on the temporary waiver of the Newly Arrived Resident’s Waiting Period, Special Benefit, suspension of mutual obligation and participation requirements until 1 June and increased partner income test.
It is available in 28 languages: Arabic, Assyrian, Burmese, Chaldean, Chin (Haka), Chinese (Simplified), Dari, Gujarati, Hazaragi, Hindi, Italian, Karen, Khmer, Korean, Kurdish (Kurmanji), Nepali, Persian (Farsi), Punjabi, Sinhalese, Spanish, Swahili, Tagalog, Tamil, Thai, Tibetan, Tigrinya, Urdu and Vietnamese.
There is also a version that has additional information relating specifically to New Zealand citizens on a Special Category Visa, available in Chinese (Simplified), Hindi and Samoan.
Services Australia’s COVID-19 community e-kit contains a Family and domestic violence checklist. This checklist provides people affected by family and domestic violence with information on things to consider when contacting Child Support, Centrelink or Medicare.
