Announcement: Access and SSI Merger

On 5th December, 2018 it was announced that Access Group International (Access) would be merging with Settlement Services International (SSI). The full statement from CEO Gail Ker OAM can be read below:

As a valued Access partner, I want to inform you that Access has merged with Settlement Services International (SSI).

This is the start of a new chapter for Access, and we are excited about the opportunity to be part of a larger community organisation that develops and delivers a broad range of services and programs for vulnerable communities.

Like us, SSI is a community organisation that supports newcomers and other Australians to achieve their full potential. You can read more about SSI here and at www.ssi.org.au.

While Access will come under the umbrella of SSI, we will continue to provide the same local and statewide services that have been the hallmark of our organisation for over 35 years.

I will continue to be CEO of Access and lead the team in Queensland.

We have had a long and successful partnership with SSI built on shared values and believe that this merger will enable us to enhance the work we do on the ground in Queensland.

This merger enables us to combine the unique strengths of both organisations to collaborate on much needed services, in a climate of growing demands upon resources in the community sector.

I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you. It takes all of us working together to make settlement and belonging a reality for newly arrived Australians and I look forward to continuing to work alongside you and others who do amazing work in this space to achieve the success of making a new life for new people in our cities.
