SCOA and MARSS invite you to join us in celebrating Harmony Day with this special film screening of popular Australian movie “Ali’s Wedding”. Released in 2017 as Australia’s first feel-good Muslim rom-com, this film shows the narrative of an average Australian family. A light refreshment will be provided at 7:00pm for a 7.30pm screening.

Launching a powerful new book about Middle Eastern settlement in South Australia, featuring an exhibition of photos, followed by a concert of music, songs, dance, poetry and stories from people of Afghani, Iranian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Kurdish, Armenian and Syrian backgrounds.

To celebrate Harmony Week 2018, OMI coordinated the Harmony Week Street Banner Project to promote WA’s wealth of cultural, religious and linguistic diversity. As part of the project, banners are sponsored by organisations (including Ishar Multicultural Women’s Health Centre), and displayed along prominent Kings Park Road in WA. The banners will be displayed along Kings Park Road from 11 to 25 March 2018.
