Launch of Student Poster Exhibition (AMRC)

The Art and Justice Committee of the Courts Administration Authority (CAA), in partnership with the Australian Migrant Resource Centre (AMRC), held a launch of the Student Poster Exhibition in December 2018 at the Sir Samuel Way Building, to celebrate International Human Rights Day 2018. The launch was attended by over 80 participants including AMRC board members and staff, community leaders, government and service provider representatives, CAA staff and members of Parliament of South Australia.

The AMRC has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the CAA, to assist in strengthening linkages and engagement between the CAA, and communities of migrant and refugee background. The launch provided the CAA with an enhanced understanding of the Refugee Week Youth Poster project and its significance in educating South Australian students from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions on themes such as multiculturalism, human rights and cultural diversity, as well as providing young people with an opportunity through art making to raise awareness about issues impacting refugees and highlighting their valuable contribution to South Australia’s social, cultural and economic development.
