Western Sydney MRC has established an English class for newly arrived individuals from refugee or migrant background in the Liverpool LGA.
The English Classes support people who are keen to learn the English language, helping them achieve their goals, while improving their language skills. Classes include conversational language to enhance social cohesion and promote general wellbeing.
Individuals find that developing their knowledge of the English language assists in creating a sense of inclusion and promotes less challenging integration into wider society.
English Classes run every Monday between 12 and 2pm.
Strive is a social group and conversational English class for newly arrived women from a refugee background in the Liverpool LGA. Strive aims to support women in building social connections, improving their English, strengthening skillsets and capacity building while reducing risks of isolation. The group helps women in their general integration into society through activities that work to develop a sense of belonging by creating an inclusive and welcoming space.
Strive meets every week on Mondays between 9:30 and 11:30am, with quarterly excursions to a new and exciting place.
