Ana comes from Slovenia. She arrived in Canberra in July 2017 on a diplomatic visa for a four-year period of her husband’s posting at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Canberra. Ana speaks fluent Slovenian (as her mother tongue) and English.
Ana graduated from the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia with a Bachelor of Laws in 2005 and passed bar examination from the Ministry of Justice of Slovenia in 2009.
Prior to joining SCOA in April 2018, Ana practiced law in Slovenia over 10 years. First she worked in a private law firm as an attorney’s apprentice, following as an attorney’s candidate. After gaining valuable skills and work experience in private sector, she started working in a district court as a judge’s assistant. Ana worked in various areas of law, yet she finally commited her work to a court’s civil and family law department.
Ana is highly interested in the work and role of SCOA and shares its values. She is happy to volunteer her time and skills to help with research work.
Having lived in Canberra, Ana dedicates most of her time to taking care of her two young children (Ajda, 6 years, and Martin, 4 years).
